When you Looking at the xiaomi mi 8, You’d expect more contemporary design from the team that will brought us the original Mi Mix and may lead the way in minimal bezels, but Mi 6 wasn’t remotely that. Well, with the xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi is back on the right track.

That means a 19-ish-to-9 tall screen with a notch like everyone else has. However, there’s an infrared face recognition camera in there similar to what only a select few Galaxies can be boast. Sadly, this regular xiaomi Mi 8 doesn’t get the Explorer edition’s 3D face mapping and its under-display fingerprint reader – only a regular rear-mounted one for the vanilla model.

How much cost of Xiaomi Mi 8 in the UK:

The release dates, we only have pricing in Chinese yuan and there is a price increase from the Mi6 that was 2,499 yuan.

  • Mi8: 2,699 yuan (~£316/$421)
  • Mi8 SE: 1,799 yuan (~£210/$281)
  • Mi8 Explorer Edition: 3,699 yuan (~£433/$577)

Those conversions have little meaning though, as well as you won’t be able to stroll into a store in the UK and buy any phone. Instead, you all need to import them from China.

I’m recommend you to buying from GearBest or Geekbuying – the later is selling the xiaomi Mi8 for £511at the time of writing. Pricing on grey-market sites can fluctuate daily.

GearBest’s pre-order pricing is set at £531.99/$699.99 for the 6GB/64GB Mi8, £569.99/$749.99 for the 6GB/128GB Mi8, and £607.99/$799.99 for the 6GB/256GB Mi8 (All International models).

Xiaomi Mi 8 Release Date:

All of eyes will be on the official announcement of the Xiaomi Mi8 release date which should be made before the end of March 2019. We are fully expecting the handset to hit the market in China, India, and other parts of Asia around the middle of April before heading to western markets including the Uk, US, and Canada.

But in Europe and North America will likely have to wait until May or June before they we get our first look at the Mi8 which will be just ahead of the iPhone 8 and the newest Galaxy Note. If Xiaomi is going to have any success entering into other markets such as the US and UK, a timed launch before the summer is a must.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Preorders:

Pre-orders will start as soon as the Mi8 is made official, but we fully expect them to start sometime in April 2019. For those in China, watch out for flash sales as Xiaomi has made a living on breaking their own record with each new flagship.

Carriers offering pre-orders will be the best way to get a flagship on the day of launch, especially considering the amount of attention the Mi8 is receiving. Both the Xiaomi Mi8 Plus and Mi8 expected to make a huge splash in already established markets, there is still a lot of uncertainty in other markets where Xiaomi has yet to make their mark.
